Online Poker News - By Josh of RakeDrop.com 2/22/2006 Poker Share
resolves its dispute with Excapsa and Ultimate Bet.
One of the
more memorable stories in online poker has come to an end today with
the announcement that Poker Share and Excapsa have come to an
amicable resolution to their disputes.
Back on
November 1st, 2005 Excapsa has sent an email to all Poker Share
members located in the US that there accounts had been closed. It
was rumored that the reason behind this related to Poker Share,
still a new company at the time, was cutting into the growth of
Ultimate Bet. Though over 20 sites share players on the Network,
Ultimate Bet has always been the flagship site.
Poker
Share's fast growth primarily came through the results of heavy
marketing of their unique concept which shared its profit with the
entire player base, giving its players an ownership like stake.
A few weeks
after Excapsa had cut off US traffic it also stopped offering
support to players all together. Poker Share had no choice but to
shut down operations, and later filed a suit of £100M
suit against Ultimate bet.
Poker Share has planned all along to relaunch
its product on another network. With the announcement now of this
resolution, also came word that the new Poker Share website will
launch in about one month. It will be interesting to see how the
poker public responds to the new website. While this idea got
thousands of players excited at one time, history has shown poker
players are not very loyal and failed sites no matter what the
reasons behind them have not had a strong history of success the
second time around.
